The Faculty of Dentistry at The University of Hong Kong is celebrating its Silver Jubilee in 2007 to mark 25 years of serving the people of Hong Kong and the region, by advancing their oral health and well-being through excellence in learning, discovery, patient care, and engagement.
The Faculty will commemorate this important milestone in its history by holding a year of dent25 Silver Jubilee events, starting in November 2006 with a Silver Jubilee Concert and culminating in November 2007 with the dent25 Congress and Banquet.
The logo that the Faculty will use throughout the dent25 Silver Jubilee year is an apple bearing the dent25 brand, to symbolise the Faculty's core goal of promoting a healthy bite, a |

healthy mouth, and a healthy lifestyle. The apple is also a western symbol of knowledge and learning: after all, based in the Prince Philip Dental Hospital, the Faculty is Hong Kong's only dental school and the only dental faculty in China that uses English as the language of instruction. |

The dent25 Silver Jubilee motto is "25 Years of Excellence", to reflect the Faculty's unfailing commitment since its establishment in 1982 to achieving the highest standards in dental teaching, research, and health care delivery.
The main colours in the apple logo and the accompanying words (red, blue, green) relate to colours in the university shield, and echo our common pursuit of sustaining and enhancing excellence "...through outstanding teaching and world-class research so as to produce well-rounded graduates with lifelong abilities to provide leadership within the societies they serve".
